I remember trying to make some money when Factions came out:

To me, it was pure logic: new campaign, everyone will want to have new armour and thus need lots of Sup Absorptions. So I bought like 20 of them at 60k each.

Factions released. Also, a small update, which stated:

Increased the droprate of Superior Vigor and Superior Absorption runes.

The prices went down to ~10k each.

I got owned

Remember when people didn't make "Do you remember when?" threads? Seriously people if you remember that's great but these threads really have to stop.

Well once people started to stop playing around the time of factions...then entire economy just kinda died.... Less demand and things became too easy to get. Everyone coming in finished the game in too short of a time and there was little point to play past the campaign storylines. They should have just made set rates IMHO.... And now that the Asians are leaving because of the server shutdown, the prices will drop and things will get even more boring... Most ppl playing are casual too. Perhaps if the minis coming in are cool then we might get more ppl coming back in, but yea GW = barely any pulse, so barely any demand for those long sought after items. I think it might be time for me to retire from the game... *sobs* ... good three years and 1,000 hours of entertainment... great time spent having fun with my brother, friends, and guildies, till I was the only one left. Perhaps i should start a giveaway thread....nah.... ill keep these things. Perhaps i may ook at my presents sometime, but till then.. no more daily guild wars XD...

later y'all have fun with wats left maybe cya in GW2

yes, it is pointless...so are 99% of the other threads so...
even more pointless is to post "pointless thread" with nothing else.

back to topic:

I remember when I found my first Sup Vig and I was sooo excited because I could get 75k from the trader for it! When I found my first Sup Abs, it was not quite as high. 45k I think.

I really loved when 55's were discovered and bought all the junk to make my mesmer into a 55 for a total cost of 500 gold (collector armor + 100g per rune + free firey flame spitter + free cesta). I wanted to make a 55 set for my monk, but 25k per rune just wasn't worth it.

Yes, I remember when Superior Vigors were that much.

It gave me PTSD.

Imagine paying that much today for a new 55 or any new armor for warriors. It just makes you realize how much has changed. I wish gas went along the same route... but...

i remember when THK was hard.

capping SOJ was hard

capping hundered blades was nearly impossible

Monks were the "elite crowd"

there was never enough monks

Necromancers weren't in the "holy trinity"

rangers were useless, so as mesmers and necromancers

when green weapons from SF or ToPK were going for 100k+

when you didnt need to grind for hours to be accepted in an elite group and were forced to use a dummy pre-made build

good times..... pre-ursan times :P

Dont know if this was already said (didnt feel like reading 6 pages ) but i remember i sold some kinda green for like 80k. I remember when u would go to Sorrows Furnace and a green would drop and it would make ur day, the Villainy of Galrath reward 4,000xp was nothing short of amazing, the log-in screen didnt suck lol, there was no materials storage , and 1k Droks armor was soooo awesome.

So many things i miss about the old GW and there only being one Campaign...but theres also stuff that i dont miss lol.

Your friend and I had a wild time, if it's the guy I'm thinking of. I know I did this. I changed to Europe because Europe always had favor and I found out that Europe's ectos were (I think it was actually 8k) and America's were 25k.

Made myself a tidy little fortune.

i will explain as i have been here since early beta.

THE AVERAGE PERSON COULD NOT EVEN AFFORD A MAJOR VIGOR AT 35K LET ALONE A SUPERIOR AT 75K.

100K FOR SUPERIOR ABSORB?FORGET IT.

ANET PUT OUT AN INTERESTING PLAYER PROFILE FROM THEIR LOGS SHOWING THE AVERAGE PLAYER AT THAT TIME HAD 20K OR LESS.

DO THE MATH CLOWN MOST COULD NOT AFFORD THEM BACK IN THOSE STINKING GOOD OLD DAYS AND WE CAN NOW.

ECON 101 FAIL FOR YOU
NIce to see some things have not changed over the years
